Curatorial Overview
Writing Change Together, Shaping Everyday Life in New Taipei City.
A city of security, livability, well-being, and prosperity comes from the shared participation and care of different people, each in their own place. “Writing Together” therefore becomes the core concept of this exhibition, as well as a way of re-understanding how a city changes. Opening with the “New Taipei City 2035 Vision,” the exhibition looks back on eight years of municipal achievements and, starting from citizens’ lived experiences, observes how these changes have gradually become part of daily life.
The exhibition is divided into four sections: Security, Livability, Well-being, and Prosperity. From childcare, long-term care, healthcare, and social support to urban renewal, transportation, public space, and the living environment; and from education, sports, and cultural life to industrial development, urban governance, and sustainable transformation, these seemingly separate policies and projects together form the conditions for urban life, and have changed the relationship between people and New Taipei.
Through “Writing Together,” we hope to place these municipal achievements back into everyday life. Every change leaves its mark on different people, and these intersecting experiences together write the story of New Taipei as it is today.
